The Beautiful and Intimate Civil Wedding of Roshni and Beemal
I have been looking forward to sharing the pictures from this wedding ever since the day I was asked to capture it. It is a Wedding that I don’t normally have the opportunity to showcase. As an Asian Wedding Photographer and specialising in Indian Weddings, it is rare for me to be asked to cover a beautiful White Dress Wedding.
So when Roshni first engaged my services, this was the event that I knew was going to be different from everything that has gone before. And as the big day drew closer and Roshni started outlining her plans and ideas, her enthusiasm and excitement rubbed off on me.
The Venue – Birmingham Botanical Gardens
Firstly, the wedding was due to take place at Birmingham Botanical Gardens, a location with beautiful Victorian Heritage and surrounded by abundant natural life. With the actual vows being said in the bright and airy Garden Suite followed by a drinks reception on the external terrace and the party finally in the Terrace Suite.
Roshni looked elegant, amazing and utterly stunning in her white dress. As she walked down the aisle, every eye in the room was on her. Beemal’s reaction to seeing his bride was priceless and that moment is one that he and Roshni will never forget.
The Civil Wedding Day
The day itself was beautiful. With the Bride looking amazing in her white dress, flanked by her equally stunning bridesmaids and being met by her dashing husband to be. Beemal looked every inch the happy groom, surrounded by his friends and family.
As Roshni made her way down the aisle, escorted by her proud father, it was her mother who summed up the happiness with tears of joy. She was the proud mother of a beautiful young lady who had grown up and was about to become a married woman.
After the short and sweet ceremony, everyone congregated outside on the external terrace for a drinks reception. People talking about how amazing Roshni looked, commenting on the beautiful venue and how the weather was being nice to the couple (this was an April wedding after all!!). The bride and groom then stepped out to be greeted by hundreds of bubbles being blown by their friends and family!
Finally, the little reception party. Entertainment was provided in the form of a live singer – the stunning Gebby Eaton. I swear, you need to take one listen to this lady and you will be mesmerised. What an amazing find by the bride! The reception had a beautiful three course sit down meal. With speeches by the proud father of the bride, the bride’s sister, the bride’s cousin brother, the best man and finally two speeches by the happy couple! Everyone told beautiful stories about the couple and just summed up how perfectly the two of them fit each other.
The day ended with a few shots at the bride’s house. The family had filled the hallway with balloons – which was ironic considering the plan we had for the couple’s prewedding shoot. If you remember, we had planned to have nearly 50 balloons in a number of the shots we took – only for them to fly away after just the first one!
